PEC was established on the Wirral in 1975 by Tristan Dodd who took over the premises of Cheshire Engine Components (CEC). A slight change of name took place and Performance Engine Components (PEC) was born. The core of the business was manufacture and supply of parts to fit engines in places they were never intended to be!
A strong interest in motorsport and in particular rallying from the very early days has directed the course of the business through the move to North Wales in 1986 and sales of both road and competition tyres are still carried out from the premises at Druid near Corwen. A mobile unit was kitted out to provide on event tyre service at rallies, this led to design work and a close working association with many top teams and naturally involved a great deal of testing.
